REID WOULD LOVE CARLISLE RETURN
BARNSLEY defender Paul Reid has revealed he would jump at the chance of a return to Carlisle United.
Paul, who was transfer listed by the Reds earlier this week, told the Carlisle News & Star: "I've always said I would love to play for Carlisle again one day - now or in the future.
"I definitely wouldn't rule it out if Carlisle were interested. They are a much better team than the one I left in 1999 as they were having a tough time back then and ended up being relegated to the Conference.
"The new owners have done very well in transforming them. The fact they are a good club again means they could attract anyone from the Championship, and I'd be happy to go back there.
"It was a shock being transfer-listed but I've been a victim of circumstances as I got sent off and it forced the manager's hand to bring in another central defender. It's rare footballers spend more than three or four years at a club so I was always prepared for the chance I might have to leave".
