AN UNBELIEVABLE SEASON - FOSTER
BARNSLEY defender Stephen Foster reflected on an unbelievable debut season at Oakwell.
Speaking exclusively to Barnsley World TV, Stephen said: "It has been an unbelievable season for me. I am just a very proud man at the moment. Picking up all those awards is a great pat on the back really from the supporters and from my team mates.
"It was a massive shock really when you look at all the competition from the other players here, who have done so well this season.
"I do not think it puts any extra pressure on me next season really. I will just go out and put everything I have got into every game. Hopefully that will be enough.
"We enjoyed a great start to the season last time around and managed to get ourselves up to fourth in the table. There was no fluke about that and that is something we have to look at for next time. We can beat anyone in this league and we have shown that - we now need to do it week in, week out.
"I did not play enough games at Burnley for anyone to really make a judgement on me over there but I have been involved 40-odd times here now. Hopefully the Barnsley fans have seen what I am about and I owe a lot to them this season.
"We have had some fantastic support, especially on the cup run, and that has really helped us get the wins we have needed. Hopefully they will have seen enough in this team to come back next season and having a full house makes a lot of difference to the players. They can be our extra man here and they make a great sound when Oakwell is packed".
