FORMER Barnsley midfielder Chris Lumsdon suffered play off heart break last night as Leeds United beat Carlisle United at Brunton Park.

United's Jonathan Howson netted two goals - his second in the 90th minute - to give Leeds a 3-2 aggregate victory. Leeds will now face either Southend or Doncaster Rovers in the League One Play Off Final at Wembley later this month.

Lumsdon joined the Reds, initially on loan, in October 2001. He went on to make 97 appearances, netting 13 goals. He joined Carlisle on a free transfer in August 2004 and has clocked up more than 180 games for the Cumbrians.
